Published

A copy of the article I published came in the mail today. Before now, I never really understood why people would be excited about publishing a scholarly article - they are all so boring - and the last part is still true - they are pretty boring. But it does feel cool to know that something I wrote will be bound up in a book that will sit in some libraries across the nation until it gets old and worn out and completely replaced by technology. I don't anticipate that anyone will actually read it, but that's okay. Well, no, let me correct myself, Garrett will read it, and so will I. We like it. I've actually read it to him several times and he always makes me finish even if I get bored in the middle because I already know every single word in it. So I'm guessing he'll read it a few more times. And maybe someday one of our kids will read it and feel secretly proud of his mom for knowing a little something about oil and gas recovery methods and their impact on trespass law in Texas . . . maybe.

Congrats! I have to be honest and say that I probably wouldn't understand half of it, but I know Eric would love it!

I don't know gas but I often have it. It looks like a good read but I don't know where to buy it? Barnes and Noble maybe. Way to go Megen. Your office could use a decorators touch. Maybe a lava lamp.

Congratulations! You are the queen of gas (and now insurance). Does the law school have it? I'll have to go look for a copy on the shelves :)

Way to get published. I was thinking about trying to get my thesis published, but then I decided to become a cop. The closest I got to publishing was presenting a paper on George Kelly vs. Albert Bandura and the foundations of cognitive behavioral therapy at a conference in Las Vegas. Best part of that trip = prime rib dinner at Lawry's. Mmmm... What I'm trying to say is "Congratulations! Quite an accomplishment."
