one of the most largely attended (1.5M? 2M?) parades in the world is a march of exotic (some erotic), witty costumes through the village. they were political: decrying mega-pharma, jesting palin, homaging america’s plumber…they were feministic: women dressed as stoves and dishwashers…they were preachy: santa as a golden calf.
it was fun.
and everybody was extra nice in ny today. the vibe was mostly estrous with a touch of morning-after. yep, for halloween most of manhattan got drunk, got laid, and got up at noon. quite a few people got double use out of their attire, like when we’d wear saturday’s prom tux to sunday services.
